Grant From First Niagara Bank to Allow Special Program to Continue at D鈥橸ouville
Program Helps High School Students with College Financial Aid Applications
Buffalo, New York 鈥 October 04, 2016 鈥 D鈥橸ouville College received a $10,500 grant from the in support of a federal student aid completion project that assists city high school students in completing the .
The grant builds on earlier federal funding from the which has funded the program since 2014.
D鈥橸ouville鈥檚 program focuses on students attending public and charter schools in the City of Buffalo with an emphasis on promoting college financial and preparation literacy.
鈥淭his program has helped hundreds of local students and their families complete this critical, but intimidating form, which serves as the make or break financial access point for enrolling in college,鈥 said Antwan K. Barlow, director of the Upward Bound Program at D鈥橸ouville and administrator of the grant. 鈥淚t helps remove one of the toughest barriers to post-secondary education in this community.鈥
