Three Faculty Selected for Membership in WNY Consortium of Higher Education Leadership Institute

Buffalo, New York – September 27, 2016 – Dr. Lisa Rafalson, chair of Health Services Administration at D’Youville College, Dr. Marion Olivieri, chair of Biology and Mathematics, and Dr. Rebecca Waite, clinical associate professor of Pharmacy, have been selected by the College for membership in the .

The consortium strengthens collaboration among its network of colleges and institutions and forges partnerships with regional private and public sectors. Its goal is to enhance the experience of students and improve local communities by contributing significantly to the knowledge economy of the Buffalo region.

In accepting the nominations, , executive director of the consortium said: “We believe that the upcoming year will provide you with multiple opportunities to learn from successful local and regional higher education leaders; develop a strong network among the women in your class’ and develop a deeper understanding of your individual goals and how to achieve them.”

A key priority of the organization is to help retain students in the region after graduation by facilitating regional employment growth and placement as well as better preparing students for career paths, aligning graduates with employment opportunities, and engaging community business leaders.

“I am certainly honored to be selected for the consortium and know it will help me be a more effective leader in my work at D’Youville,” Dr. Rafalson said.
