This year’s cohort has demonstrated exceptional clinical expertise and dedication, securing positions in highly competitive programs across the country, ranging from local healthcare leaders to national medical centers.

D’Youville’s on-campus pharmacy, Vital Pharmacy, is also pleased to announce two incoming residents, one from the D’Youville University School of Pharmacy. Eliana Alaimo, D’Youville University PharmD class of 2026 and Kaylee Siener, University at Buffalo PharmD class of 2026 both expressed their excitement to expand their skills and continue learning. Kaylee Siener added that she was “eager to be involved in teaching opportunities and mentor future pharmacists”.

A pharmacy residency is a highly competitive, post-graduate period of intense clinical training. While a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree provides the foundational knowledge required for licensure, a residency offers an additional one to two years of hands-on experience in specialized environments, such as emergency medicine, ambulatory care, or psychiatric pharmacy.

Securing a "Match" is a complex process where candidates and programs are paired based on mutual preference. For students, completing a residency means they are prepared to take on advanced clinical roles, lead interdisciplinary healthcare teams, and manage the most complex patient cases. It represents a commitment to lifelong learning and a higher standard of patient-centered care.

The 2026 match cycle reflects the rigorous academic preparation provided by D’Youville. Alyssa M. Wozniak, PharmD, BCPS, Assistant Dean for Clinical Affairs, Outreach, & Special Projects and Residency Program Director at Vital Pharmacy, noted the significance of these achievements:

"Match Day is always a meaningful milestone, and this year’s results highlight the dedication and perseverance of our students. We are proud to share that 13 of our PGY1 candidates matched, representing an approximately 81% match rate, with placements at excellent programs both locally and across the country, including continued growth within our own Vital Pharmacy residency.

In addition, six of our PGY2 candidates secured positions through early commitment or the Match, reflecting the strength of our advanced training pathways.

At the same time, we recognize that each student’s path is unique, and we are proud of the many directions our graduates are pursuing. We look forward to celebrating each of our students and their individual career plans at graduation!"

About D’Youville University School of Pharmacy:

D’Youville University School of Pharmacy offers a rigorous, student-centered curriculum designed to develop the next generation of pharmacy leaders.
