She earned her MBBS degree from Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan, and an MS in Plastic Surgery from the University of Karachi, establishing a solid foundation in medical sciences.

Dr. Khan brings exceptional expertise in anatomy, otolaryngology, and medical education to his role at D’Youville University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine. With over three decades of experience as an ENT specialist and head and neck surgeon, Dr. Khan possesses a profound understanding of human anatomy. His pioneering contributions to endoscopic skull base surgery, showcased in his acclaimed book Endoscopic Anatomy of Expanded Endonasal Approaches, establish him as a global authority in his field.

Dr. Khan’s academic journey includes leadership roles across institutions in Pakistan, Southeast Asia, Canada, and the Caribbean, offering him a rich, international perspective on medical education. Dr. Okorie brings a dynamic combination of medical, anatomical, and educational expertise to D’Youville University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Anatomy and a medical degree from the University of Calabar, Nigeria, building a robust foundation in understanding the human body. His clinical experience as a practicing physician and residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology enrich his anatomical insights with practical applications.

A passionate educator, Dr. Okorie has taught Anatomy, Histology, Neuroanatomy, and Embryology at institutions such as Saint George’s University and Saint James School of Medicine. His Master’s in Public Health further broadens his perspective, allowing him to address the wider social and systemic factors influencing human health and disease.

Dr. Okorie’s expertise and dedication make him a vital contributor to the College, preparing future osteopathic physicians with a comprehensive understanding of anatomy and public health.

Biography

Dr. Pandit serves as the Associate Dean of Premedical at D’Youville University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, bringing over two decades of academic and clinical leadership experience from esteemed institutions worldwide.

Her medical journey began at JIPMER, Pondicherry, India, followed by specialized training in Surgery, Biochemistry, and Oncology at top hospitals in India and the United States. Dr. Pandit’s dedication to advancing medical knowledge is evident through her numerous research publications, including contributions to Scientific Reports and Nature.

Dr. Pandit’s educational expertise was cultivated at Saba University School of Medicine, where she advanced from Course Director to Chair of Clinical Medicine. Before joining D’Youville, she served as Dean of Medical and Behavioral Health at a prominent Hispanic-Serving Institution, focusing on expanding education access for underserved populations.

With her global perspective, research acumen, and passion for inclusive education, Dr. Pandit plays a pivotal role in shaping the premedical programs at DYU-COM, preparing students for meaningful careers in osteopathic medicine.

Biography

Amitabha Ray completed his graduation in Medicine (MBBS) from the University of Calcutta, subsequently residency in Pathology, his medical postgraduate degree (M.D.) at the Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, and his Ph.D. from J.M.I., New Delhi, India. He was associated with the Indian Council of Medical Research. He pursued his postdoctoral research in Professor Margot P. Cleary’s laboratory at the Hormel Institute (University of Minnesota), Austin, MN. In Dr. Cleary’s lab, he worked primarily on the role of obesity and the interactions between different adipocyte-released cytokines, particularly leptin and adiponectin in breast cancer pathology. In recent times, he completed the Master of Science program in Medical Education from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Pennsylvania, and a one-year Postgraduate Certificate program in Clinical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases from the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom. He has published more than 70 scientific papers in different journals, mainly on cancer. For about 13 years, he has continuously taught basic science subjects, including Pathology, to medical/health science students.

Dr. Sanyaolu is a distinguished medical microbiologist whose career spans public health, clinical practice, and education. With deep expertise in communicable diseases, particularly infectious and tropical diseases, he brings a wealth of knowledge in clinical and public health microbiology.

Dr. Sanyaolu holds a Master’s and Ph.D. in Medical Microbiology from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, and has enriched his expertise through diverse roles in Canada, the United States, and the Caribbean. Over the years, I have been involved in studies on endemic tropical and emerging communicable diseases like Malaria, HIV / AIDS, and opportunistic parasitic infections, Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD), Tuberculosis, Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Dengue, Chikungunya, Zika, Schistosomiasis and Helminthic infection in school children.

More recently, the sudden emergence, ceaseless human-to-human transmission, and rapid spread of Sars-Cov-2, the causative agent of the Covid-19 has led to continuous global pandemicity of the diseases. My research is currently focused on the disease.
